The Northwest University Journal of Sciences (NWUJS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published by the Faculty of Science, Northwest University, Kano, Nigeria. It is dedicated to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the dissemination of high-quality research across a wide spectrum of scientific disciplines.

We aim to foster scholarly communication and collaboration, contributing to scientific and technological development both locally and globally. 

Our vision is to become a leading and reputable source of scientific information in Africa, recognized for its rigorous peer-review process and its commitment to academic excellence and integrity.

Aims & Scope

YMSUJS is a multidisciplinary journal that welcomes original research articles, review articles, short communications, and case studies in the following areas:

• Biological Sciences: Including Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Environmental Biology.

• Chemical Sciences: Covering Organic, Inorganic, Physical, and Analytical Chemistry.

• Computer Science: Including Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, and Software Engineering.

• Mathematical Sciences: Encompassing Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics.

• Physics: Covering Theoretical Physics, Experimental Physics, Electronics, and Geophysics.

Peer Review Process

To ensure the highest quality, all manuscripts submitted to YMSUJS undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. Each submission is assessed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field. The review process is designed to be thorough, confidential, and unbiased, ensuring that published work is scientifically sound, original, and significant.
