The Academic Planning Directorate was established under the Vice-Chancellor’s office and charged with the responsibility of collection, coordination, use and management of data for the overall sustainable development of the University that directly or indirectly boarder on academic activities.

The Director of Academic Planning (DAP) is appointed by the Vice-Chancellor to oversee the functions of the academic planning directorate. The Director is responsible for harmonizing and organizing academic policies of the University in an advisory capacity to the Vice-Chancellor and other arms of the University.

From inception of the unit in 2012, there has been a strong and vibrant leadership, which starts with Prof. Danjuma Maiwada as pioneer Director, followed by Dr. Mukhtar Halliru whom both serves on acting capacity. The Vice-Chancellor on 1st May, 2016 appointed Dr. Ali Ibrahim Naibbi as the Director of Academic Planning of the University. The appointment was for a period of two (2) years.
